Nicki Minaj Explains Quitting Twitter
Nicki Minaj surprised millions of her fans when she deleted her Twitter account last week. The Harajuku Barbie had 11 million followers at @nickiminaj when she quit the site over the weekend. Speaking out about the decision on the late-night U.K. talk show "The Graham Norton Show," Nicki explained why she did it.
“A voice in my head told me to delete my Twitter and that’s what I did,” she said. “I had 11 million followers and I hope they will wait for me.”
As for whether or when she'll return to the social network? Nicki said she's still undecided.
“I don’t know yet, I’m thinking about it,” she said. “I miss my Barbz, please bear with me.”
In a separate interview while in London, according to Rap-Up, Nicki confirmed that she had been approached by Simon Cowell as a potential judge on the Fox reality singing competition, The X Factor. But with her busy schedule, the two parties ultimately decided it wasn't the right fit.
“I think we both decided together that it wouldn’t work out,” she said. “I think it was the best decision.”
