HBCU Frats, Sororities Celebrated In New Reebok Clothing Collection
Reebok is continuing their United Against Racism initiatives with a new capsule honoring the Divine Nine.
According to Vibe, the new merchandise, named the Yard Collection, will come in seven colorways used by HBCU sororities and fraternities: pink/green, crimson/cream, black/gold, blue/white, blue/gold, crown/gold, purple/gold.
The collection is in conjunction with their launch Reebok initiative, which is donating $25,000 to the United Negro College Fund.
“As a member of a historically Black Greek organization, January, the founding month of my sisterhood, is incredibly special to me,” says Rebbok’s vice president of apparels, Portia Blunt. “These communities foster a unique bond and heritage of service work that has been maintained for over a century. I am proud to have the opportunity to celebrate and honor the legacies of these organizations and create a capsule many of our team members can tell their personal stories through.”
Senior vice president of U.S. Commercial Sales, John Moore, notes the collection’s goal to “help shine a light on the important efforts of historically Black fraternities and sororities.”
The collection’s campaign features Reebok employees; some are a part of sororities and fraternities.
The collection launches on January 10, with a starting price point of $25, the report says.
