Unraveling Truths and Confrontations: 'The Oval's' Latest Episode Intensifies Suspicion and Betrayal

Alonzo's close call, Hunter's suspicions, and Simone's growing distrust set the stage for a web of deception.

Last week’s episode of The Oval ended with Alonzo down after being shot by Hunter. In the latest episode, we pick up from that moment. It turns out that Alonzo is okay, because Hunter shot him in his bulletproof vest. Hunter is now wondering if Sharon is the one who gave him the drugs but when he learns that she’s in jail for putting Kareem in a coma, he zeroes in on Kareem and demands they bring Kareem, who is still unconscious; as far as we know.

The other order of business is Simone, the de facto president’s wife. Eli finally checks on her and tries to convince her to apologize to Victoria so she can drop the charges. Simone questions whether Eli is sleeping with Victoria and he denies it. He does a terrible job of gaslighting her but it seems to be working. Hopefully, she will see Eli for what he is soon.

'The Oval': A Storm Brews with Unveiled Truths and Unthinkable Acts

Richard is summoned by the president and questioned about who drugged him since he knows that Sharon was with Richard’s son. Richard plays dumb, Priscilla walks into his bedroom, and the president tells her he caught Sam in bed with Victoria. Priscilla pretends to be skeptical because later on, Richard confirmed that Sam was at his house when all that went down. Hunter’s behavior only confirms Richard and Priscilla’s theory that he’s paranoid.

Meanwhile, the FBI agents who scooped up Allen explain that there are several investigations into the president and that they want him to help them access some files that he’s privy too. Allen is too afraid and decides to just go back to jail, at least for now.

Next, we get to Kareem. He’s conscious again and calls his cousin Antonio to let him know he’s still in the hospital. Antonio informs him that the Secret Service stole their drugs and that everything is falling apart. They make a plan for Kareem to leave the hospital, even though he’s still not in good shape, but those plans are thwarted when Alonzo comes looking for him and plans to take him to the president.

Bobby is tasked with taking Simone back home and he listens to her vent about what’s been going on. You know Bobby can’t be trusted around married women, but he does seem to be doing a good job listening and then Simone reveals she heard Victoria on the phone with Eli and wants to know if he knew about their affair. Bobby denies knowing anything, even though this confirms what he and Max already suspected. Eventually, she tells Bobby to leave to call the FBI agents she had been working with, the same ones who tried to get Allen to help them. The agents want to meet up with her to share information, but Simone doesn’t know who to trust. Finally, the episode ends with Sam in the woods, searching for Jason. He gets too close to the rakadushi compound and finds himself face to face with one of their soldiers pointing a gun at him and threatening to blow his head off, and that’s where we are until next week.
