Prayers Up: DMX Hospitalized
DMX was rushed to the hospital on Monday night after collapsing outside of his hotel, TMZ reports. The rapper was said to be complaining about shortness of breath and chest pain in Yonkers, New York, before he fell to the floor. While his reps initially claimed he suffered a bad asthma attack, police reports indicate it was more likely an overdose.
When cops first found X, unconscious outside of his parked car in the Ramada Yonkers parking lot, he had no pulse and wasn't breathing. A witness said the rapper had ingested some kind of white powder. The quick-thinking police gave him a dose of Narcan, a drug used in narcotics overdoses, and X's pulse returned and he became "semi-conscious" while being rushed to the hospital.
Thankfully, X is in "stable condition" now and won't face criminal charges.
Early reports said that the rapper had an asthma attack and his crew called 911 when an inhaler didn't help. Hopefully the rapper will make a swift recovery and take this overdose as a wakeup call, if indeed that's what happened.
