This Woman's Boyfriend Pushed Her Out of a Plane Before It Crashed to Save Her Life
A rapper in New Orleans saved his girlfriend in the final moments of his life when he pushed her from a plane as it fell to the ground.
On Tuesday, Brianna Davis surprised her 25-year-old boyfriend, Reginald Hillard Jr., with tickets to see an aerial view from a plane. Although Hillard was afraid of flying and had never flown before, he did not want to pass up the experience with his girlfriend.
After the plane took off, the plane hit a rainstorm and started to go down about half a mile away from the runway.
As the plane plummeted towards Lake Pontchartrain, Hillard pushed Davis out of the door in order to save her from the inevitable demise. The plane then crashed, killing Hillard and the pilot of the plane.
Davis was picked up by a private yacht and taken to the hospital. She is the only survivor.
After hearing the news of the crash, Hillard’s family remembered him for being a sweet and loving person who would risk his life to save another.
"He's the hero. He was a hero living. You know, he died that way," said Yolanda White, Hillard's cousin.
Another family member is hoping to find strength in this harrowing time.
"He loved his life and he lived it to the fullest. And this is God's will," said Anthony Coleman, Hillard's cousin. "There isn't [anything] we can do about it, but accept it."
The pilot of the plane has not yet been identified. Officials say he was an experienced flier, but made no calls for help during the crash.
