Chrisette Michele Hospitalized for Ruptured Appendix

A case of appendicitis sidelines the songstress.

Chrisette Michele was forced to cancel a performance in New York’s Times Square last night after suffering a ruptured appendix. According to Singer’s Room, the 30-year-old singer was hospitalized last night (February 19) as the result of a case of appendicitis. Michele reportedly experienced abdominal pain during her soundcheck.

The songstress took to her Twitter page to give fans an update on her condition.

"I adore my fans. Thank u for your prayers and well wishes. I’m gonna be just fine. Ouch. Soon. I’m trusting The Lord. Xo," she wrote.

Fresh off the release of her mixtape Audio Visual Presentation: Audrey Hepburn last December, Michele is slated to perform with Keyshia Cole on the Woman to Woman tour kicking off March 28 in Westbury, NY.

The Grammy Award-winning singer is currently prepping her fourth solo album, Better, for a 2013 release. "A Couple Forevers," the lead single from Better, is currently picking up steam.

Though it is possible for a ruptured appendix to be lethal, the affliction is usually treatable in most healthy adults.

We all hope the talented songstress a speedy recovery!
