Lil Durk Facing Murder-for-Hire Charges
Rapper Lil Durk is facing charges of murder-for-hire for his connection to a botched plot aimed at killing fellow rapper Quando Rondo, which tragically resulted in the 2022 death of Rondo’s cousin.
U.S. Marshal arrested the “All My Life” emcee, born Durk Devontay Banks, Thursday evening (Oct. 24) and is currently being held without bail at Broward Country Jail in Florida, according to booking records.
CBS reports, the arrest comes after five members of Durk’s rap collective, “Only the Family” (OTF), including Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston, were indicted on federal charges in Los Angeles of utilizing OTF-linked credit cards in the facilitation of the alleged conspiracy.
Investigators believe it was retaliation for the earlier murder of Chicago rapper King Von, who was shot and killed during a gunfight outside the Monaco Hookah Lounge in Atlanta early that morning, according to authorities.
Those suspects are facing charges including conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, committing murder-for-hire resulting in death, as well as the use of, carry, and discharge of firearms and a machinegun in the furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.
The latest incident also comes after Durk was recently named in a wrongful death lawsuit from the estate of FBG Duck, who was fatally shot in 2020 and ahead of the release of his ninth full-length studio album, Deep Thoughts.”
