Reports that Game wanted "too much money" to fight George Zimmerman are untrue, the rapper says in an exclusive statement to BET.com.

According to Game he never requested a payout for the celebrity boxing match, and wanted to clear up the "lies" swirling in the media. “I’ve never asked for a dime," he asserts. "I’d whoop George Zimmerman’s a** for free. Or, pay anyone I could to have a round."

Boxing promoter Damon Feldman started the money rumor in an interview with The Grio. Aside from allegedly putting Game on blast, he announced that Floyd Mayweather Sr. may referee the controversial fight. Feldman also maintained that the fight won't be "an all out war."

For now, Zimmerman is scheduled to face DMX in the March 4 bout. The former ex-Ruff Ryders affiliate was one of roughly 15,000 people in line to battle the one-time accused killer. Earlier this week, X's rep told BET.com that the 43-year-old New Yorker hadn't yet confirmed his involvement in the match.

X further explained in an interview yesterday. "I haven't really decided if I'm going to do it, but if I did do it ... whatever money was supposed to go to him, would have to go to charity," he promised.

Zimmerman, 30, was acquitted last July for the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. The high schooler would've celebrated his 19th birthday this past Wednesday (Feb. 5).
