Ab-Soul Announces Album Title
Top Dawg Entertainment is well on pace to keep its promise of releasing six albums from its roster this year.
In February, TDE dropped ScHoolBoyQ's Oxymoron LP, followed by SZA's Z EP in April, and next up to bat is Black Hippy member Ab-Soul.
The rapper announced the name of his long-awaited new album Monday (May 5) tweeting, "These Days…Is The Title." He will share the release date for These Days "later this week," according to a tweet from TDE's CEO, Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith.
Ab-Soul and the label weren't on the same page a few days ago, but it looks like the dust has settled. The 27-year-old was apparently frustrated because his project has been delayed, and threatened to leak his own album like "a mixtape."
Tiffith stepped in and quickly dissolved any chance of that happening though. "I dare a n---- on my team leak his album…..#TDE," he tweeted last Friday (May 2).
It's been two year's since Ab-Soul released his last album, Control System. The independent release cracked the Top 10 on Billboard's Rap Albums charts, came in 12th place on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts, and bowed at No. 91 on the Billboard 200.
