Teen Fatally Shot While Raking Leaves In Prince George’s County, Maryland

Police are offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Jayz Agnew, a 13-year-old eighth grader, was raking leaves in his front yard on Nov. 8 in Prince George’s County, Maryland, when he was shot. Juanita Agnew, his mother, has now confirmed her son has died from his injuries.

According to The Washington Post, the teen was shot in the head, and it’s unknown whether he was targeted or if it was a random act of violence. Juanita Agnew said in a statement, "It doesn't hit home until it hits home. I've seen gun violence before and I've seen where other mothers go through this, but it doesn't hurt until you really are the one that's getting that kind of call."

Agnew added, “My greatest fear is my son will not get justice.”
