De'Andre Johnson Claims Woman He Punched Used N-Word
Former Florida State University quarterback De'Andre Johnson wants everyone to know that there's something you can't see on the shocking video of him punching a woman inside a bar.
After the disturbing footage of Johnson striking a woman inside a Tallahassee bar surfaced Monday, Johnson now claims that prior to the punch, the female victim called him the N-word. He alleges she said, "Get off me you f****** n*****," according to TMZ Sports.
Johnson's camp also says there were witnesses present at the bar during the late-June incident. After already being suspended indefinitely by Florida State University, the school dismissed the freshman QB after the footage was released.
Johnson also told TMZ Sports that he's "extremely embarrassed" about the incident. The ugly scene took place after Johnson aggressively tried to get past the woman and to the bar. She raises her fist as a warning to which Johnson responds by grabbing her hand in attempt to restrain her. The woman punches Johnson and the freshman QB responds by punching her right back in the face.
Johnson has been charged with misdemeanor battery and the case is still ongoing.
