City of New Orleans Celebrates Juvenile with 'Back That Azz Up Day'
"Back That Azz Up," released by Juvenile on June 11, 1999, is one of the defining tracks of late 90s hip-hop and Southern rap. As part of his album 400 Degreez, this song solidified Juvenile's place in music history and marked a significant moment for the Cash Money Records label. Produced by Mannie Fresh, "Back That Azz Up" features infectious beats, catchy hooks, and memorable lyrics that quickly became a staple in clubs and parties nationwide.
New Orleans celebrated the song's 25th anniversary by declaring June 11 "Back That Azz Up Day."
"The 25th anniversary of the music video, and urge all citizens to join the celebration of this monumental achievement and the artists who have made a lasting impact on our city's musical legacy," Mayor Latoya Cantrell said.
