Internet Issues Cause Another Delay In YSL RICO Trial

The trial was postponed until Friday, May 31.

The saga continues with the Young Slime Life RICO trial as it was delayed again because of internet issues, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

On Wednesday (May 29), Detective Jason Teague, one of the State’s key witnesses, gave his testimony about a 2015 shooting followed by Judge Ural Glanville announcing that the court would go on a 15-minute recess.

After returning around an hour later, Glanville informed the court that they all would be leaving early.

“It appears our internet is still out or down countywide, at least on this side of the building,” Glanville said. “These kinds of things happen, it’s nobody’s fault.”

Witness In Young Thug YSL Trial Refuses To Answer Questions On Stand

Because of the internet issues, Teague’s testimony was postponed until Friday, May 31. Internet connectivity was restored on Wednesday evening.

Since the trial commenced in November 2023, after taking nearly a year to seat a jury, the trial has seen many twists and turns. One witness refused to testify while on the stand, another witness was reportedly stabbed in jail which caused a delay in proceedings. Further, the legal team for the defendant requested fewer witnesses, arguing that the trial could continue to 2027 because of the number of witnesses that the prosecution had planned to call for testimonies.

As the pace of the trial continues to be subject to delays, many are weighing in on the possible outcome. Fellow Atlanta native, T.I.  has predicted that Young Thug will be found not guilty during his interview with “The Breakfast Club” on Tuesday, May 28.

“I don’t think that the prosecution has successfully proven the case of him knowingly and willingly participating in an active street gang," Tip explained. "I just don’t see it. I don’t think that the witnesses that they’ve called thus far have proven what they’ve said that they would prove. I just don’t think that the grounds of that case have been presented properly. I just ain’t seen it.”
