Chris Brown Announces X Release Date
Chris Brown took to Twitter again to announce a new release date for his sixth studio album, X, and Team Breezy has fingers-crossed that this one will stick. "'X' is by far my best album yet.... Setting the date for MAY 5," Brown wrote Saturday afternoon (Feb. 22).
The album was originally scheduled for a July 2013 delivery, but has been pushed back several times amid Brown's ongoing legal issues. He tweeted a November release date in October that didn't pan out.
The singer has also used his Twitter account to beef with his management, to admit that he's considering leaving the industry behind after X releases, and, when he was unable to get his fans the album, he used the account to release the X-Files, a free EP of music.
So far, Brown has also released several videos to support the LP, "Fine China," "Love More" featuring Nicki Minaj and "Don't Think They Know" featuring Aaliyah. And according to TMZ, this weekend he was spotted shooting another one.
"I just wanted to go and write personal records about what I’ve been going through," he previously told BET.com. "Whether it's been heartbreak, joy, sorrow, or anger. Anything. I would just rather let my people and my fans identify with who I am as a person. For this album, I really just wanted to focus on my talent and everything I have to bring."
