[Update] Look: Kim Kardashian of Pakistan's Brother Finally Charged for Her Murder
According to the Daily Mail, a Pakistani court has charged the brother of Qandeel Baloch in connection with her murder. Baloch was a social media star known as the Pakistani Kim Kardashian. Her death became one of the most talked about “honor killings” in Pakistan’s history.
On Monday, her brother Waseem Mohammad Baloch, appeared in court, where he was charged with her murder
Waseem appeared with his cousin Haq Nawaz and taxi driver Abdul Basit, whom police deemed to be accomplices. However, the nature of their involvement is unknown.
In July, Waseem spoke to reporters about the drugging and strangling of his sister.
“Girls are born only to stay at home,” Waseem said in a police press conference. “And to bring honour to the family by following family traditions but Qandeel had never done that.
“Now everybody will remember me with honour that I have provided relief to my parents and brothers who were suffering for the last two decades because of her,” Waseem added.
Although Waseem’s past statements suggest a confession of guilt, Judge Muhammad Saeed Raza told media outlets that he pleaded not guilty, reported the Daily Mail

Baloch's murder ignited many protests and international discussions surrounding the practice of honor killings in Pakistan
Filmmaker Sharmeemn Obaid-Chinoy, who won an Oscar earlier this year for her emotional documentary on honour killings, called Baloch's killing a result of an "epidemic" of violence against women in Pakistan.
