Whoa: Kanye West Just Topped a Michael Jackson Record
Kanye West often refers to himself as a god. And while we usually roll our eyes at such a claim, when it comes to music, Ye may have an argument.
The Chicago-based rapper and superproducer recently just passed Michael Jackson in a major Billboard charts category. ScHoolboy Q’s “That Part,” on which Yeezy is featured, just moved from No. 42 on the charts to No. 40, giving West his 40th top 40 hit. Jackson and Frankie Valli both had 39 a piece.
ScHoolboy has a lot of work himself if he wants to catch up. This is only his second Top 40 hit, which, while impressive, shows both how young his career is and the impressiveness of Kanye’s most recent feat.
Kanye West currently holds the No. 10 spot for most Top 40 hits by a male artist of all-time. He recently hinted that he and Drake are working on an album together. If true, ‘Ye could be making a climb into the Top 5 in no time. Check out the full Top 10 below.
