Update: Young M.A Responds to Allegations She Ditched Out on a Paid Performance
Updated Nov. 28 5:45PM EST:
Following allegations that Young M.A skipped out on a performance despite accepting payment, the Brooklyn rapper has addressed the situation in a series of Snapchat videos.
"It's f**ked up I gotta make these videos before I do these shows now," she says, alluding to the New Orleans promoter claiming she didn't follow through on the terms of her booking. "Because all these n****s dragging my name in the dirt over some bulls**t that ain't 'cause of me."
Before promptly signing off the social media app, she pleaded with fans, saying, "If you f**k with me, please don't believe everything you see in the media."
Take a look at Young M.A's latest commentary on the matter in the clip below.
Original story:
Even though her name is buzzing gloriously through the mainstream as of late, the Brooklyn-banging Young M.A may have “OOOUUU”-ed her way into some trouble last Friday (Nov. 25).
$33,000 worth of trouble, to be exact.
According to a New Orleans promoter, who goes by Tank Dawg Winston on Instagram, M.A finessed upwards of $33,000 from him after dipping out of a gig rumored to have been at Studio 433. He says that just as quickly as she pulled up to the venue where she was booked for a nighttime appearance, she jetted off with no explanation. He said, however, that the reason for her disappearance is that there wasn’t a large enough crowd.
“It took me three weeks to get the drop from Young M.A,” he said in the video. “Young M.A got a f**king attitude problem.” After he contacted the rapper and her team for a refund, he claims they ignored him, ran off to the airport and left New Orleans. He then said she did another concert the next day that she also promoted but “wasn’t supposed to do.”
“I want my motherf**king money, M.A” he angrily stated on IG. “Me and my team Tank Dawg Records want our motherf**king money.”
After the initial video explaining the incident, the promoter took a more demanding turn and posted another clip surrounded by a gang of clearly pissed off New Orleans folks as they flashed guns and demanded their money back. “My hood is pissed off, M.A!,” he said as they all drew guns on the camera. “We want our f**king money!”
Yesterday (Nov. 27), The Shade Room posted a user’s account of what happened that evening in New Orleans as well and it pretty much matches up with the same story Winston gives.
“I don’t know what be in that Hennessy she be drinking but she needs to leave that ish alone because it got her priorities all f**ked up!” the user claimed. “The nerve of her to have her fans waiting to see her for not one, not two, but eight damn hours just to watch her pull up and pull off! That was wack of her!”
