We may not get the pleasure of seeing Malia Obama in the White House as we once did these days, but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate the oldest Obama daughter turning 19 today!

Malia and her sister Sasha both grew up in the public eye while Barack Obama served as president for eight years. Malia made us proud then, and she's making us proud now as she embarks on the next stage of her life as a young adult.

It's fitting that her birthday lands on the same day as Independence  Day, and many took to Twitter to wish the eldest Obama daughter a very happy birthday.
