Mary J. Blige has been enjoying wedded bliss with husband-manager Kendu Isaacs for more than a decade now. In fact, the couple is set to celebrate their 11th wedding anniversary next month. In a recent interview with Stella magazine, Blige shared what could be the secret to maintaining a healthy relationship when you’re in the biz.

“All females for me, all guys for him,” the 43-year-old said about the platonic relationships they’re each allowed to have. “There’s none of that, ‘Oh, that’s my female friend. Oh, that’s my guy friend.’ No. Not in a marriage, I’ve never seen that work.”

Some might raise an eyebrow and say that’s an indication of trust issues between the two, but there’s at least one person who wholeheartedly agrees with the singer. During her visit with the ladies of The View, Naya Rivera said she has the same situation in place with her new husband, Ryan Dorsey.

"It's really not so much a rule as I understand it, because I feel like you're playing with fire and opening up the floodgates here, and you're having issues in your marriage, but someone is going to talk to the opposite sex to get advice or whatever and you should be talking to your partner. So I don't believe in it."

The Glee star went on to explain why she felt the need to keep her husband from mingling with the opposite sex.

“It’s not so much that you, like, don't trust your relationship or your husband or your wife or anything. You kind of don't trust outsiders and other people. You don't know what their motives are," she said.

“I feel like there's a difference between having an issue with that when you're married and when you're just dating someone. I feel like when you're married, if you're now someone's wife, I'm sorry, ladies, but you’ve got to get back a little bit more. It's different."
