In this episode of Millennial Love Stories, The Coopers (Nina and QC) take a trip down memory lane revisiting everything from the day they first met to getting engaged. The road leading up to their holy matrimony has included major lessons we can all learn from, including how to confirm whether your love interest is really single and tips for winning over the parents.

How To Determine If He/She Is Taken:

On Valentine’s Day 2015, Nina had plans to attend a concert with a former boyfriend and needed someone to cover her shift at the teen center where she and QC worked. Nina wasn't sure if QC was single, but she figured asking him to cover for her might give her some perspective. "It was a test to see if this man had a girl because he just didn't come off as if he was in a relationship," said Nina. "So, I was trying to scope it to see what was going on."

How To Win Over The Parents:

QC met Nina's parents at a work event, and he didn't exactly hit it out of the park. "Mom dukes wasn't feeling your boy from the get. And I kind of get it. I was in a different place in my life. I was kind of struggling. I was trying to find myself, " said QC. To help break the ice, Nina started inviting QC to family events. "Basically, he had to prove himself to my mom," said Nina. "She's going to run you through a whole boot camp to see if you can withstand the pressure."

"We started to have more conversations and even when we would meet up for family gatherings it was a little bit of different energy," said QC.
