Rihanna Locked Up Everyone’s Phone And Shocked The World By Taking The Stage At Her Savage x Fenty New York Fashion Show
Rihanna debuted her Savage x Fenty show during New York Fashion Week at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn last night (Sep. 10), and, let’s just say, this isn’t like any fashion show we’ve seen before.
Unlike other shows during fashion week, Rihanna's show was promptly on time, starting at 9:30 p.m. sharp! As guests arrived at the venue, we were given mini bags to lock our phones up, so there was no texting or tweeting during the show. RiRi shocked the packed stadium, opening with a jaw-dropping dance performance, hitting every move choreographed by the incredible Parris Goebel, the woman behind choreography for JLO, Ciara, Nicki Minaj, and more.
Riri called up all of her famous friends for this extraordinary event. Laverne Cox gave us the twirl of a lifetime while Normani hit the stage with some of the most-sultry dance moves we've ever seen, all while donning Savage x Fenty F/W 2019 pieces. Christian Combs and 21 Savage also hit the runway, with DJ Khaled, The Migos, Fat Joe, and Halsey entertaining the crowd. She also had guests such as Lil Kim, Saweetie, Kehlani and Chris Rock in the audience.
Now, on to the lingerie: Rihanna stunned in an all-black, Savage x Fenty logo catsuit for her introductory performance. Throughout the evening, we watched in awe as models danced in cute teddy's, mesh catsuits, and a whole lot of lace in vibrant neon greens, reds and yellows.
Rihanna has consistently prioritized inclusivity and continues to break barriers in the industry by always showcasing the most diverse cast of models and dancers, including notable fashion models such as Alex Wek, Joan Smalls, and even Slick Woods, who literally gave birth to her after walking in the show last season.
The size-inclusive collection will be available to shop on September 20th when the show airs on Amazon Prime, and the clothes will be available to shop on Amazon Fashion, too! Talk about money moves!
This fashion show will go down in history as one of the best shows that ever took place during NYFW, and I'm just glad I was able to witness it.
