In today's dose of tone-deafness, actor and Saturday Night Live's resident Trump impersonator, Alec Baldwin, recently did an interview where he raved about Black people's admiration of him since his impression of the current POTUS took off.

What the actor and sometimes-comedian was arguably not expecting, though, was the response he would receive as a result of his prematurely confident and borderline offense words.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Baldwin boldly shared that African-Americans just love him since he started portraying Trump on the late night sketch comedy series.

"I don't know how to say this and I don't want to get it wrong either, because everything is a minefield of bombs going off," he said. "But ever since I played Trump, Black people love me. They love me. Everywhere I go, Black people go crazy."

Here's the kicker, though.

Per the reporter Lacey Rose's account, Baldwin's overzealous assessment stemmed from an encounter with a Black man named Tyrone who noticed him while out in the street.

"As we leave Ray's on an overcast mid-September afternoon, a young man hollers, 'Duuuude, you do that Donald Trump thing real good. Real good,'" she wrote. "The man introduces himself as Tyrone, and though he's waving and pointing and causing something of a scene, the often-irritable Baldwin doesn't mind a bit. In fact, he calls Tyrone over and the two begin cracking each other up. It's hard to tell who's enjoying the other more."

It gets worse, folks.

Seemingly "inspired" by Tyrone's fandom, Baldwin shared a few more words after hopping in his SUV:

"Everywhere I go, Black people go crazy. I think it's because they're most afraid of Trump," he continued. "I'm not going to paint every African-American person with the same brush, but a significant number of them are sitting there going, 'This is going to be bad for Black folks.'"

Welp, his ironically Trump-like criticism of Trump didn't go over well with the Twitter community as offended users lit him ablaze after the piece was published. Take a look, below:
