GLAAD Media Awards: Lil Nas X, Kaytranda And Asiahn Among Nominees
Lil Nas X is among the 246 nominees up for recognition for the 33rd annual GLAAD Media Awards that celebrates LGBTQ talent across the music, entertainment and journalism industries.
In addition to the MONTERO artist’s nomination, Kaytranada and Asiahn are also among this year’s list of candidates, according to Variety.
Lil Nas X and Kaytranda were both nominated for Outstanding Music Artist for their respective albums MONTERO and Intimidated. While Asiahn was nominated for Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist for her project The Interlude.
For this year’s event, the show will take place in Los Angeles on April 2, 2022 and in New York on May 6, 2022.
GLAAD was established in 1985 in response to the defamatory and sensationalized HIV and AIDS news coverage. In 1990, the media awards for GLAAD were created and have since turned into the most visible LGBTQ award show on a global scale.
