Hot Trailer: Sundance Hit Dear White People
Like Fruitvale Station last year, Dear White People was the film that had critics and audiences heaping praise at this year's Sundance Film Festival. Justin Simien's hilarious look at racial politics on a college campus is sure to be a breakthrough hit when it comes to theaters later this year. In the meantime, those who haven't yet heard about the film can see what all the fuss is about in the trailer below.
The short clip takes special aim at racial stereotypes in movies. "This fall, in the tradition of The Help, The Blind Side and The Butler..." the voiceover begins before the viewer is faced with stars Tessa Thompson, Tyler James Williams and others asking: "How come the only Black movies Hollywood wants to make are ones with Black mammies in fat suits?"
