Kanye Explains Why He Bought House Next To Kim Kardashian
Kanye West raised eyebrows after he made headlines for buying a home right across from his estranged wife Kim Kardashian.
While many believed the move was the rapper/producer’s latest attempt to pull his family back together, Ye told Hollywood Unlocked’s Jason Lee that the move was about family, but not exactly what people think.
“My solace comes from seeing my kids and getting a solid schedule. That’s why I even got the house,” he said to the outlet during an interview slated to be released in full on Monday (January 17). “The media flipped into there was something wrong with me getting a house next to my kids.”
Kanye then compared the parenting situation to that of his childhood. “You see when my mom took me from Atlanta to Chicago, my dad didn’t come to the coldest and most dangerous city in the world to be next to [me],” he recalled. “He said, ‘I’m going to stay down in Atlanta.'”
West also claimed that “nothing with my career, with this rap, with this media, with none of that, that’s gonna keep me from my children. And that’s what I want everybody to know.”
He added: “Don’t play with me, don’t play with my children. Ain’t no security gonna get in between me and my children and you ain’t gonna gaslight me.”
Kanye shares children North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm with Kim Kardashian, who filed for divorce from him in February 2021. In December, it was revealed that he began spending time with Uncut Gems actress Julia Fox.
Kardashian has been dating Saturday Night Live actor Pete Davidson, which is becoming a fling that is heating up and one that Ye allegedly took aim at in a newly-leaked song called “Eazy,” featuring The Game.
“God saved me from that crash / Just so I could beat Pete Davidson’s a**!” he raps on the track.
