Get Ready for Shonda Rhimes's New Book, Year of Yes
TV titan Shonda Rhimes is coming for the bestseller list. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the prime-time mastermind will release her first book this November, and its subject is one-of-a-kind: she said yes to every invitation that came her way for an entire year.
"Saying yes for an entire year turned out to be one of the most amazing decisions I have ever made," she said in a news release. "It was also a little insane, a lot terrifying and sometimes wildly embarrassing. So this is not a story I ever planned to share with anyone. However, once Simon & Schuster asked me, I had no choice — what else could I say but yes?"
"It's mind-boggling that the mega-talented Shonda Rhimes, one of the most admired and accomplished women in Hollywood, would feel the need to challenge her status quo," says Simon & Schuster editor-in-chief Marysue Rucci. "But by saying yes for a year, she truly transformed her life for the better in every way."
While Rhimes wouldn't reveal any juicy tidbits from the book, Rucci gave a few words on its tone and feel: "Year of Yes is surprising, hilarious, poignant, and accessible."
The project is yet another way the Hollywood A-lister is keeping us talking with her words. From her tweets to her hit shows like Grey's Anatomy, How to Get Away With Murder and Private Practice, we can never get enough of queen Shonda.
