Cortez Bryant Sides With Lil Wayne in Cash Money Drama
To recap, Wayne claims the label won’t release Tha Carter V, and he’s willing to sue Birdman to get out of his contract. He blasted the Cash Money boss on Twitter last December, roughly two months after Tyga revealed his own troubles with the label to Vibe magazine.
Yesterday (Jan. 12) on Instagram, Bryant, Wayne's longtime manager, put his full support behind Wayne and Young Money. “@LilTunechi built Young Money from his dreams to reality. Launched the careers of @Drake @NICKIMINAJ@Tyga not from their talent but from the belief in what he saw that they saw in themselves and put everything in making sure they fulfill their dreams! That's what Young Money is about That's the DNA of the real Lil Wayne Sacrifice himself to want his artist to be better!”
He added that the New Orleans rapper “carried Cash Money on his back for over 10 years when he could have left and did this on his own,” and is being treated unfairly. “He don't deserve the s**t he's going through at this point in the game,” Bryant wrote, vowing to stay down with Weezy’s imprint. “One thing for sure Two things for certain @mackmaine and myself will not let this dream die WE GOT US! #YOUNG MONEY #sorry4forthewait #freeCV.”
While the album release gets worked out, Wayne is said to be dropping another Sorry 4 the Wait mixtape. Mack Maine debuted the first track from the project yesterday, which is a remix to Future’s “S**t.”
Weezy is apparently done publicly addressing Cash Money matters, and keeping his mind on what matters: “God, Family, & the Green Bay Packers.”
