Riders of Buses in Chicago Beware

Mobs raid the windy city’s buses in search of cellphones.

In two incidents near the University of Illinois at Chicago campus, as many as 15 teens stormed city buses, attacked victims and ran away with cellphones and other electronic devices, authorities told a local Chicago news station.

The first attack occurred on Saturday around 11:40 p.m. on a Chicago Transit Authority bus. The victim was hit multiple times before the criminals ran off with his cellphone. Twenty minutes later, on another city bus, a student was hit with a glass bottle and attacked by 15 Black boys before they ran off with his iPod.

The student was taken to the university medical center for treatment and bus surveillance video may be available for review, police said.

Anyone with information about the bus attacks should contact Chicago authorities at 312-746-8253.

The thieves are between 14 and 20 years old and no taller 6-foot-1-inch.
