Veteran actor Jaleel White continues his mission to shed his nerdtastic past by bagging another decidedly non-Urkel role. This time, he'll play a convicted criminal who spends time in prison alongside Hugh Laurie in the October 3 season premiere of House.
The 34-year-old has been working hard to stay in the business since Family Matters came to an end, making guest appearances on shows like The Game, Psych and Boston Legal, and starring in the web series Fake It Till You Make It (which he also writes and produces).
Though White hasn't been able to achieve the level of success he had as Carl Winslow's suspendered, nasal-voiced neighbor, there is one quality he shares with Steve Urkel: perseverance. Keep it real, Jaleel.
