Netflix is set to air a new series that sure to please hip hop heads with its rich depiction on the rise of the genre. Of course, that can't be chronicled without feauting the legendary Grandmaster Flash. While the real hip hop pioneer associate produced the project, actor Mamoudou Athie plays him in the film and his portrayal is a must-see.

Flash isn't the only huge name attached to this project. From respected director Baz Luhrmann and four-tome Oscar winner and executive producer Catherine Martin to executive producer Nas and actors Jaden Smith and Smakeik Moore, the real deal is guaranteed with this project.

The series consists of six episodes and will premiere on Friday, August 12, exclusively on Netflix worldwide.
