One of Steve Harvey's radio morning show employees, Bryan Cooke, died this past weekend after being found unconscious and unresponsive in his hotel room. He was 39.

According to TMZ, one of Harvey's well-known co-hosts found Cooke in his room at the W Hotel in Atlanta and called the police.

The site reports that the cops were called to the hotel earlier Sunday afternoon where the body of Kier "Junior" Spates' assistant, Bryan Cooke, was found. Blood and vomit were reportedly coming from his nose and mouth.

Spates reportedly asked the hotel staff to check on Cooke after he initially failed to respond to him, as they were both scheduled to catch a flight, together, to Los Angeles, that day. When he failed to answer, the hotel staff went in only to find him lying face down on his bed. He was described as "cold to the touch."

According to Spates' account, he and Cooke had both enjoyed a night out the night prior to his death. He said Cooke appeared fine as they returned to the hotel and was even in the right state of mind for them both to enjoy cigars before they headed off to their separate rooms. As far as drugs are concerned, Spates stressed that they did not partake in any.

The police did find, however, prescription pills in Cooke's room, but did not disclose what the medication was. It is still unconfirmed whether or not the pills played a role in his death.

Spates, who is a popular radio personality on Harvey's radio show, referred to Cooke as his "best friend."
