She may be the daughter of music legend Quincy Jones, but Rashida Jones has made a name for herself as a funny actress with sweet sensibilities.

In her new film, My Idiot Brother, in theaters Aug. 26, Jones, 35, plays a lesbian lawyer. In this role, her character makes out with her girlfriend, played by Zooey Deschanel.

Unsure of how it should go down, Jones tells Access Hollywood she reached out to friend and fellow actress Natalie Portman, who had her own lesbian sex scene in last year’s hit Black Swan.

Jones says Portman’s only advice was, “Dude, it’s awkward to make out with your friend. I’m just warning you right now.”

Seemingly unfazed, the Parks and Recreation star describes the kiss as “totally fun and slightly awkward only because Zooey and I have known each other for a really long time.” Then she adds with a smirk, “But she’s so pretty, she didn’t make it that hard.”
