Johnny Manziel Is Only Making His Reputation Worse
Johnny Manziel either isn't smart or really gives zero Fs.
Whatever the case may be, it's clear the former NFL quarterback needs some serious help... and fast.
Hours after TMZ Sports reported that the investigation into Manziel's alleged assault of his girlfriend was being sent to a grand jury Thursday, deciding whether charges will be rung up against him, the troubled 23-year-old was seen taking Champagne bottles to the head, getting lit in a Miami nightclub.
TMZ Sports even obtained video showing the former Cleveland Browns QB chugging what appears to be Champagne, dressed in a big hat and sunglasses.
On one hand, people could argue that Manziel is so confident that he's innocent, he's out partying instead of worrying about the grand jury's decision. On the other hand, though, wouldn't it just be smarter to lay low right about now? There's already plenty of negative energy swirling around him in what has become a badly bruised reputation for Manziel.
After releasing Manziel, the Browns had to deny a report that he was hung over during a December 30 team meeting, so if the embattled QB has an alcohol issue, being seen in a club drinking isn't a good look at all.
That and Manziel's father, Paul Manziel, already told the Dallas Morning News that his son twice refused to enter rehab and if he doesn't get help "he won't live to see his 24th birthday."
On Thursday, the Dallas Police Department announced that his Class A misdemeanor Assault/Domestic Violence case has been referred to the Dallas County District Attorney’s office for presentation to the grand jury, stemming from the alleged January 30 incident.
Colleen Crowley, his girlfriend, already informed police that Manziel repeatedly hit her in the head during an argument, striking her so hard that he ruptured her eardrum.
In addition to that, officials checked surveillance footage from the hotel where the incident occurred, as part of their investigation, although they haven't announced what they saw on the video.
All this being said, Johnny Football is so far gone from the gridiron that he may never get a chance to play in the NFL again.
Hopefully, he can get his life together.
