Kendrick Lamar Signs Joint Venture with Aftermath, Interscope
Kendrick Lamar has long been known to be affiliated with the house that Dr. Dre built, but now it's official: the Compton up-and-comer and his whole Black Hippy crew have signed with Aftermath/Interscope Records in a joint venture with their own Top Dawg Entertainment label.
Future releases from Kendrick (a BET Music Matters artist), Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and Jay Rock will be care of Top Dawg and Interscope, according to a statement given by TDE founder Anthony Tiffith to Fader.
Lamar's highly anticipated major label debut, Good Kid in a Mad City, is due later this year.
Kendrick will be among a host of music stars performing at the BET Music Matters showcase at South by Southwest on March 15. The much-anticpated event will be hosted by multi-platinum producer Timbaland.
