Drake Pulls Yet Another Boss Move
At this point everyone knows that acting has been an integral part of Drake's career.
Prior to his glorious come-up as a rapper, he first portrayed the character "Jimmy" on the show Degrassi and later began to expand his artistry into music, a decision that has since proved to work tremendously in his favor.
Now that Drake has secured his legacy as one of the most prominent artists in music, he is looking to return to his humble beginnings. As reported, the 6 God will appear in the UK's crime drama Top Boy.
The producers behind the show, which is set to begin its third season, will reportedly be writing Drizzy into the cast. Considering the announcement comes after the rapper bought rights to the popular British TV program, it only makes sense he'd want to get involved on a more visible level.
"We met up to start talking about the show and we are working out a role for him," Ashley Walters, an actor on the show, shared with The Mirror. "He loves acting, of course he wanted a part. He’s going to be really hands on and is getting stuck into it."
While a premiere date has yet to be announced, sources are sharing that the show is likely to hit Netflix sometime in 2018. It has additionally been reported that Drake will move to London as filming takes place.
"He is such a down to earth, nice guy," Walters added, of working with Drake so far. "He’s so famous you would expect him to be this crazy character but he’s actually quite boring, in a good way. I had a meeting with him and I brought all of my kids along. My eldest was chatting away in his ear for ages and he was just cool."
Considering Drake's love for acting and British culture alike, his getting involved in the show is definitely not too surprising of an endeavor.
