It’s still hard to believe that iconic singer Prince is gone.

As the weeks have passed since his untimely death, we have seen some pretty touching tributes, including the upcoming cover of the June issue of Harper’s Bazaar Serbia, starring supermodel and actress Chanel Iman.

It makes sense why the global fashion periodical wanted to pay homage to the “Kiss” singer. Prince was more than just an artist. For more than 30 years, he was also a major fashion trend-setter, breaking the rules with his gender-bending ideologies and constantly challenging the rigidness of Black masculinity. So, whether it was ruffles, eyeliner, lace or bell bottoms, Prince rocked it, and Iman channels that for her latest cover shoot and fashion spread.

According to Refinery29, the shoot, which was photographed by Joshua Jordan, recreated some of The Purple One’s most iconic looks including Purple Rain, Dirty Mind and Plectrumelectrum. The entire team got it down to the T from the curly strands, lace gloves, smoky eye, and the motorcycle.

Speaking of smoky eyes, the shoot’s makeup artist, Yacine Diallo, talked to Refiney 29 about Prince’s personal beauty inspirations and her mantra for creating these looks for this tribute. “The story was also a tribute to all the talented, beautiful, and sexy women like Vanity 6, Sheila E., Wendy, and Lisa he had on stage with him throughout his career. Chanel Iman was perfect to interpret this sensuality and freedom that always inspired me while growing up watching Prince videos and listening to his music,” she said.
