Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" Named Billboard's Most Successful Rap Single

Seattle rapper's hit leads the list of Top 100 songs in the last 25 years.

Now that the Grammy backlash has died down, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have another rap-related win to celebrate.

"Thrift Shop," the Seattle duo's multi-platinum lead single from The Heist, is officially the most successful track on Billboard's Hot Rap Songs Chart

The trade publication calculated the Top 100 best performing songs (based on a combination of airplay and sales) in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the chart. The registry consists of cuts like "Loungin'" by LL Cool J (No. 97), Tupac Shakur's 1996 Jodeci- assisted single "How Do You Want It" (No. 15), Drake's "The Motto" (No. 11) and "Drank in My Cup" by Kirko Bangz (No. 69).

The Top 10 holds more unexpected pepperings of old and new singles, some with decades in between them. For example, Digital Underground's 1990 hit "The Humpty Dance" comes in at No. 10, preceded by Waka Flocka's "No Hands" released in 2010.

In the Top 5, Missy Elliott's "Hot Boyz" featuring Eve, Nas and Q-Tip earned third place and "Tootsie Roll" by The 69 Boys grabbed the No. 2 entry.

Macklemore managed to snag two tracks in the Top 5 with "Can't Hold Us" at the No. 4 slot and "Thrift Shop landing at No. 1."
