Michael B. Jordan Explains Why He’s Not Ready For A Relationship
Michael B. Jordan is gearing up for the release of the second installment in the Creed franchise, and, in a recent GQ cover story to promote the film, the actor dished on his love life, detailing exactly why he's not quite ready to settle down.
The Hollywood heartthrob, 31, boldly shared that he doesn't currently have the maturity level necessary to participate in a committed romantic relationship.
"I'm very mature and advanced in a lot of areas of life," he said. "Dating may not be one of 'em... I don't really know what dating is."
This comes months after the publication's 2018 "Man of the Year" was photographed mingling on a boat in Italy with a slew of white women, sparking critiques of him romantically ignoring Black women. He directly addressed this moment in the interview.
"Sometimes, you get on a boat, you go and meet people you've never met before, enjoy some stuff," he said. "It's vacation, it's life. Then it just turned into this whole other thing that it wasn't. It just wasn't that. I felt like I needed to say something in that moment."
Nevertheless, the actor maintained that dating isn't on his radar, at the moment, as his career is currently his one and only love.
"I'm just going to keep trying to work on myself and build this empire," he said. "I want to make this thing so my family ain't gotta worry about nothing... I want intergenerational wealth."
