‘Zatima’ Returns: Plot Lines From Last Season That You Should Remember
There’s always a lot going on in the Tyler Perry Universe on BET and BET Plus. You never know where the drama will take you on any flagship shows. Enter "Zatima," which is gearing up for its third season, premiering on October 3. It has been a while since we left all the drama in season two, so here’s a quick refresher on some of the plotlines we last saw.
Zac’s Mother Died
Zac’s mother, Gladys, died of an overdose. This is probably the most unforgettable aspect of what has been going on in the Zatima universe, and it will drive a lot of the story next season. Zac had a tumultuous relationship with his mother and, subsequently, his brother, Jeremiah, and when his mom died, that sent Zac into a spiral of grief. Fatima convinced him to go to therapy, which he’s going to need a lot of in the upcoming season.
Bryce Unleashed Financial Drama
Zac already wasn’t fooling with Bryce for pushing up on him, and it took a while before he even started speaking to him again. Just when it looked like maybe Zac would tolerate Bryce for their business partnership, Bryce decided to make an investment that Zac told him not to. That decision threw the company into financial chaos, and they might not be able to recover any time soon.
Nate Apologizes to Fatima
Nate made amends with Fatima for planting seeds of doubt in Zac’s mind. That probably wasn’t the start of a friendship, but maybe it could be…in an alternate universe.
Connie Standing Down
Connie vs. Fatima would have been a rumble for the ages, but it appears that Connie has accepted that she and Zac aren’t meant to be. That realization seems to have changed her demeanor toward Zac and Fatima. That’s probably for her own good.
Fatima is Pregnant
Last season ended with the bombshell news that Fatima is pregnant. As a couple, Zatima has Michael, ½ of Karen’s twins (but technically both), and now a new baby is coming before they even start planning their wedding. On top of all of that, Zac’s mom dying and also grappling with the fallout with Jeremiah will be a lot.
