Count Michelle Obama as one of the guest stars to appear on Nickelodeon’s iCarly.

In an upcoming episode, the first lady will appear on the comedy series in an effort to promote the Joining Forces Initiative. Joining Forces attempts to increase awareness and support for military families.

In the episode, Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) is the daughter of a colonel who is serving in the military. To help her talk to her father on his birthday, Carly’s friends set up a web chat. According to Nickelodeon president Cyma Zarghami, the first lady “discovers it and comes to have a chat with them in the most positive way possible.”

The episode will reportedly air in January 2012.
