A New Star Is Born On "American Idol"
After several weeks of singing, crying and guitar playing, America chose it's "Idol" winner Wednesday night with country crooner, 17-year-old Scotty McCreery. It should be noted McCreery is the first country male singer to win the title. Although McCreery had stiff competition from the Luther Vandross encarnate Jacob Lusk and the last-minute-laringitis-stricken finale Lauren Alaina, McCreery and his charisma mangaed to win America's hearts and ears with his extreme Southern cuteness and bassy voice.
Even though Rock icon and Aerosmith front-man and popular entertainer/singer Steven Tyler dubbed Alaina as the "The One" early on in the competition, McCreery's cute, yet-Southern-boy-sexiness, won the nation over, who voted and crowned him the tenth "American Idol." As one of four male winners (Lee DeWyze, Kris Allen, and David Cook), McCreery may not have an easy row in the popular hearts of Amercians. He sings Country for goodness sakes and America has proven that Pop pops when it comes to music (ie: Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, David Cook).
Nontheless, we say Congratulations to the new "American Idol" star! Love the eyes. Love the baritone voice.
