Exclusive: Take A First Look At Images From 'Candy Cane Lane' Starring Eddie Murphy and Tracee Ellis Ross

The movie, Murphy's first holiday film, reunites the actor with director Reginald Hudlin.

The holidays are about to get funnier when Prime Video premieres its new movie, "Candy Cane Lane," starring Eddie Murphy and Tracee Ellis Ross.

In this festive comedy adventure, directed by Reginald Hudlin, Murphy shines as Chris, a man set on clinching victory in his neighborhood’s esteemed Annual Christmas Decoration Contest. However, his ambition leads him to unwittingly strike a deal with Pepper, a playful elf Jillian Bell portrays. In her mischief, Pepper conjures a spell that animates the iconic 12 Days of Christmas, plunging the town into enchanting turmoil. As the holiday magic spirals out of control, Chris, supported by his wife Carol (Tracee Ellis Ross) and their trio of children, finds himself in a race against time. Together, they must decipher the enchantment, confront bewitching adversaries, and safeguard the Christmas spirit for all.

“"Boomerang" was a big hit when we made it, and it’s still considered an all-time great romantic comedy. We were both single guys living in New York, so we totally related to the characters. Now, we are family guys living in Los Angeles, and we both love Christmas, so once again, we are making a movie that truly reflects where we are in our lives, and it shows in the work," Hudlin said.

Check out the excluvise first-look images from the movie. "Candy Cane Lane" premieres exclusively on Prime Video globally on December 1, 2023.
