Not much change in the box-office lineup this weekend. Fifty Shades of Grey held on to the top spot at the box office with a $23.2 million gross, despite dropping 73 percent in ticket sales from the previous weekend. The racy drama, starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, is still a huge success worldwide and managed to pass the $400 million mark globally.
Remaining in second place was Kingsman: The Secret Service, starring Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson, which fell 52 percent to $17.5 million for a domestic total of $67.1 million.
Also staying put in the third spot was The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, which brought in an additional $15.5 million for a total of $125.2 million so far.
Rounding out the top five were Kevin Costner‘s McFarland, USA and teen comedy The DUFF, which earned $11.3 million and $11 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, starring Craig Robinson and Adam Scott, bombed with only $5.8 million.
Next week, Will Smith returns to the big screen in the heist thriller Focus.
