Kevin Hart to Receive CinemaCon's Comedy Star of the Year Award
Kevin Hart's hard work in both movies and comedy are paying off. The funny man is set to receive the Comedy Star of the Year award at CinemaCon this year.
"With a tireless work ethic and a comedic timing that is unlike no other, Kevin Hart has become box-office gold, with his films drawing moviegoers to the theaters in droves," said Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon, in an announcement Monday.
CinemaCon, the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), attracts more than 5,000 motion picture professionals, who all gather to celebrate the cinema industry.
Further speaking on the actor/comedian's large comedic impact, Neuhauser said, "An outstanding comedic talent and one of the most entertaining comedians in film today, Kevin has brought laughter to audiences around the world, cementing himself at the top of the box office. We could not be more thrilled than to honor him with the 'CinemaCon Comedy Star of the Year Award.'"
This honor comes just as Hart is continuing to heat up the big screen with his latest release, Get Hard, alongside Will Ferrell. The follow-up to his 2014 box office smash Ride Along is also slated to hit theaters on January 15, 2016. Kevin Hart's films have collectively grossed more than a quarter-billion dollars at the box office worldwide.
The Think Like a Man actor will be presented with his prestigious honor at the CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards ceremony on Thursday, April 23, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
