Suspect Arrested In Connection To Lil Tjay Shooting
Lil Tjay is still recovering after a June 22 shooting in Edgewater, New Jersey and a suspect is now in custody.
According to TMZ, three men have been arrested and one is believed to be the shooter. The outlet says New Jersey’s Bergen County Prosecutor's Office identifies the alleged trigger man as Mohamed Konate.
KABC-TV reports on June 22, just after midnight, police say Konate, 27, shot Tjay several times and one of the performer’s friends was shot once. Konate’s charges include three counts of first-degree attempted murder and and three counts of first-degree armed robbery. Additionally, the two men who were with Tjay were arrested for second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
The extent of Lil Tjay’s injuries are unknown, but he has undergone emergency surgery and is currently recovering.
Born and raised in the Bronx, Lil Tjay is known for the songs "Calling My Phone,” "Not in the Mood” and, his most recent hit, "In My Head,” released this year.
