Floyd Mayweather Jr. Did a Really Sweet Thing for Jen Welter

Boxing champ is reportedly big fan of the NFL's first female coach.

Jen Welter's coaching internship with the Arizona Cardinals — which made her the first female coach of any kind in NFL history — came to an end earlier this week.

But through the process, Welter more than earned the respect of the Cardinals' players, especially the linebackers she was assisting with, and one of the top athletes in the world — Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The undefeated boxing champion was so moved by Welter's story that he has given the coach ringside tickets to his upcoming bout against Andre Berto on Saturday, September 12 in Las Vegas.

According to TMZ Sports, Mayweather is a huge fan of Welter and wanted to show his support of her goal to coach full-time in the NFL by offering her two ringside seats to his fight. TMZ adds that not only will Welter attend, but she may have an even larger role in the bout. Perhaps walking Mayweather out to the ring?

Welter, 37, played linebacker for 14 years in women’s football leagues. She even played running back and coached linebackers for the Texas Revolution, a professional men's indoor football team, last season. Her internship, which began in late July, ended this past Sunday.

“She’s a great lady,” Cardinals linebacker Kevin Minter told the Associated Press. "She’s helped a lot and she’s a stickler about fundamentals and what not. She knows a lot about making you better as a person, too, with the notes she left on your locker, the words of encouragement from what she sees on film. She was like a real good person to feed off of."
