Al Roker Admitted To Hospital For Blood Clots
Al Roker revealed that he was recently admitted to the hospital after a blood clot in his leg also caused clotting in his lungs.
In an Instagram post, the famed Today show weather anchor announced on Friday (November 18) that he’s getting “terrific” medical care and recovering.
“So many of you have been thoughtfully asking where I’ve been,” Roker captioned the IG post featuring a picture of flowers in his hospital room. “Last week, I was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg, which sent some clots into my lungs. After some medical whack-a-mole, I am so fortunate to be getting terrific medical care and on the way to recovery. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers, and hope to see you soon. Have a great weekend, everyone.”
In late 2020, Roker announced on Today that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer during an annual physical. At the time, he said the cancer was caught early, and he underwent surgery to remove his prostate.
