The Nevada Supreme Court Refuses to Hear O.J. Simpson’s Appeal
The Nevada Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal regarding the 2007 conviction of O.J. Simpson.
The Nevada Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal regarding the 2007 conviction of O.J. Simpson, 63, for armed robbery and other felonies. The former running back’s attorney says Simpson’s fame hinders him.
The Associated Press reported that Simpson's attorney Malcolm LaVergne said, "What judge wants to be put in the position that they let O.J. go free? This is not a fair result for Mr. Simpson, given the facts of the case."
Simpson is currently serving a 9- to 33-year sentence at the medium-security Lovelock Correctional Center. In 2008 he was convicted of leading a group of armed men in the robbery of a sports memorabilia dealer to take property that Simpson said belonged to him.
