Lil Wayne Announces New Music Project, 'Funeral'
The world may never know when the notorious hatchet between Birdman and Lil Wayne will finally be buried, but Weezy certainly seems to be operating on a major independent streak.
From hinting at a possible deal with Jay Z’s Roc Nation label to several middle fingers thrown at his Cash Money label home through mixtapes and performances, Weezy has made a new promise for fans.
Dropping by The Nine Club, Tunechi discussed history with Cash Money, his famous skate park in Miami and trying to enjoy his favorite hobby while avoiding crazed fans as well as what’s coming up next for his career. Puffing on a cigar for the hour-long interview, Weezy added toward the end that fans should be on the lookout for the cryptically-titled project Funeral.
"I have a whole bunch of good news coming soon,” he said. “If you are a Wayne fan, I know we been going through tough times right now. But if you're a Wayne fan, we about to hold our heads high," he declared.
Wayne didn’t release any due date details for the forthcoming album, but he’s seemed to be pretty confident of its development.
