Sounds About White: Kim Kardashian Defends Kylie Jenner’s ‘Self-Made’ Billionaire Status In The Most Tone Deaf Way Possible
Forbes recently caught a lot of heat for their cover story on Kylie Jenner and their description of her as a “self-made” billionaire.
First off, she’s not yet a billionaire, and second, the term “self-made” is pretty questionable to many. Well now, big surprise, Kim Kardashian is stepping out to defend her half sister and says her entire family created their own wealth.
During an interview with Refinery 29, Kardashian addressed the controversy but didn’t really address the criticisms about being labeled as “self-made.”
"I really didn’t get it, because she is 'self-made' — we are all 'self-made,'" she said. "What, because we came from a family that has had success? To me, that doesn’t really make sense... I know so many people like that [who] haven’t turned out to be as successful as Kylie. If anything, I've seen the complete opposite."
While it is true that people with money initially have, for one reason or another, squandered their fortune, that doesn’t take away from the fact that they had the mula to begin with. It’s even something dictionary.com took issue with.
Kim also defending her and her sister’s work ethic, which many will concede is less debatable.
"That’s how I lived my life with my dad [Robert Kardashian]. He never gave me anything,” she said. “We might have the opportunity, but I’ve seen it go the complete opposite way. Nobody works harder than my sisters and my mom.”
Social media’s already reacting to Kim’s defense of “self-made” Kylie. They don’t exactly agree.

Oh and also, that GoFundMe trying to get Kylie Jenner to a billion dollars isn’t helping that “self-made” image either. Oh well.
